Dear Family,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at La Cañada High School! I am thrilled to welcome our new and returning families back to campus and look forward to working together to support our wonderful students and dedicated administration, teachers, and staff.

The start of the school year brings many opportunities to reconnect with friends, meet new families, and become involved in the LCHS community.  We hope that you can join us in the many opportunities to volunteer and engage with other parents while supporting the programs that benefit our students and staff members. Volunteer commitments are fun and can be just a few hours or you can join a committee, whatever your schedule allows. 

Sign up to help at the annual Tailgate Party on September 8th or the annual La Canada Spring Home Tour on April 26th. Check out the Spartan Order Form where you can join PTSA, sign up to volunteer, make donations, purchase Spirit Wear, Tailgate meals, Home Tour tickets and more.

Without your generous financial support, we cannot run the many programs that our school and students depend upon.  As you go through the Spartan Order Form, you'll have the chance to support our amazing Academic Enrichment programs, the  Technology department, IRC resources, and the Wellness Center.  You can also join PTSA and order a directory.

The Spartan Online Order Form is on the LCHS PTSA website.  If you already have a Membership Toolkit account with another PTA, you will be able to access it by logging in.  If not, instructions to set your account up are on the home page.  Once your account is set up, you will be able to access the Spartan Order Form.

We invite you to attend the first PTSA meeting of the year on Thursday, August 17th at 8:45 a.m. in the cafeteria.  Come hear the latest updates from our Principal, District representatives, and staff before heading to work.  Coffee and light snacks will be served. The more you participate in our PTSA events, the more engaged you will feel in our school family. 

I am humbled to serve as your PTSA President and look forward to a fabulous school year. Many thanks to my awesome Executive Board, chairs, and volunteers for their dedication, hard work, and support. With a new year comes the Spartan Order Form, where you can donate, volunteer and purchase your PTSA membership, Directory, Home Tour Sponsorship, Tailgate tickets and Spirit Wear.

The funding sources that comprise the annual PTSA budget are from donations you choose to make on this form. LCHS PTSA relies on our school families to donate, either to our PTSA directed funds or as Sponsors of the annual La Canada Home Tour. YOUR student and YOUR school are counting on you. Please check it out!

REGISTRATION DATES AND TIMES

Seniors:  Tuesday, August 8, 8:00am - 10:00am

Juniors : Tuesday, August 8, 10:30am - 12:30pm

Sophomores: Tuesday, August 8, 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Freshman: Wednesday, August 9, 8:30am Orientation / 10am - 12pm Registration

Please make sure to log onto your Aeries account and complete all the necessary paperwork before Registration. The last two pages of the Emergency Card need to be printed out and signed by both the parents and student and brought to registration.

If your 11th or 12th grader plans to eat off campus for lunch, then they need to bring a signed copy of the Off-Campus Lunch Permit Request form.

Parking permits for 11th and 12th graders will be done by lottery. Students may submit a lottery entry online through Google forms from August 8th - August 26th. (They MUST have a license - not a permit - when they submit a lottery entry). Click here for details  and a link to the Google form.

Yearbooks and ASB fees can be combined into one check for $200 made payable to La Canada High School or individually if not purchasing both. Yearbooks - $125, ASB - $75

Pre-purchased yearbooks from the 2022-2023 school year will be available for pick-up at registration.

Welcome all LCHS 7th-12th grade families that are new to the district!

Please join us for the New Family Social on Friday, August 11th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Auditorium. You will have the opportunity to meet our principals, PTSA board members, and students from the LCHS ASB and Peer Support who will be there to answer your questions and give tours.

Light refreshments will be served. Following the event, families are invited to the field at 6:00 pm for a demonstration by the LCHS Marching Band and Color Guard.

Please join us for the first LCHS PTSA meeting on Thursday, August 17^th at 8:45 am in the school Cafeteria.   Coffee and light snacks will be served.

In order to ensure that your student and family’s information in our directory database is accurate, please click here to log in and make any necessary changes by September 11th. You will also have the option to choose to not have your family’s information included in the directory, although a list of all student names will be included by grade.  

Orders for the directory are taken on the Spartan Order Form until September 11th.

Every year, LCHS PTSA, LCHS 7/8 PTA and Boosters organize a fun Tailgate Party at the start of football season. Families gather outside the football field as we play games, listen to a great DJ and enjoy delicious freshly prepared burgers from The Habit. A spirit tunnel is created by those present and our teams run through it and onto the field to kick off the Spartan athletics season. Tailgate is a membership event for both organizations and we encourage everyone to attend and support our important organizations.

LCHS 2023-2024 Bell Schedule - School starts Tuesday, August 15th. The first two weeks of school will follow a daily schedule of all six classes each day.  Beginning on Monday, August 28th, school will follow the typical Block Schedule. Click here for the Bell Schedule.

Parking Permits - Students in 11^th & 12^th grade may submit a lottery entry online through Google forms, from August 8 thru August 25, 2023.  They must have a license when they submit the lotter entry (not a driver’s permit). Please click here for Parking Permit Regulations and the Google form.
