SUBJECT: LCHS 9-12 PTSA: All the News You Need!

President's Message

Dear Family,

I hope everyone enjoyed the fun Homecoming weekend!  It was great to see so many students and families enjoying themselves at Tailgate and then at the exciting football game against Monrovia. Half time was a highlight with the LCHS Marching Band performance, the announcement of this year’s Homecoming queen, and a fabulous fireworks show!  The HOCO dance on Saturday was a great way for the students to wrap up the weekend, and from what I heard from my 11th grader, it was a very fun night!

It’s these events that make our students’ high school years so memorable.  We can all truly appreciate how special these times are after having to cancel them or do them virtually during Covid.  Thank you to Mr. Cartnal and Dr. Gold, and to all of the students, parents, and staff members that volunteered for Tailgate and made the Homecoming festivities possible!  I want to extend a special Thank You to our Tailgate chairs – Holly Breckheimer, Sharon Anderson, Alli Regan, Karyn Perez, and Jennifer Miller.

There is more to look forward to this month including our PTSA Meeting this Thursday, Oct. 19th at 8:45 am in the Staff Lounge.  Red Ribbon Week will be next week, Oct. 23rd - 27th.  Read below for more details and opportunities to volunteer.

I wish everyone a great week and hope to see you at the PTSA meeting!  Please reach out with any questions to ptapresident@lchsptsa.org.

Warm Regards,

Christine Chant, LCHS PTSA President

Amazon Wish Lists for Teachers

For the 2023-2024 school year, we’re continuing the Amazon Wish List for Teachers Program.  Each of the teachers, counselors, IRC staff, Wellness Center staff, and College and Career Center counselors have been invited to create a wish list of items that they need for their classrooms to make their day-to-day job easier.  These are things that they would have to purchase on their own, so this is a great way to support them by purchasing items for them.  The Wish List links will be posted on their Google Classrooms and the LCHS PTSA website, on the Teacher Appreciation page.

When you buy items from their list, they will be shipped to the school and the teacher will be notified.  If, for any reason, you choose to buy it separately, please let the teacher know so they can remove it from their list.

If you have any questions please contact Gisela Galan at gisgalan@protonmail.com or Christine Chant at ptapresident@lchsptsa.org

Thank you for supporting our teachers and staff!
