President's Message

Dear Family,

I would like to welcome you and your families back to LCHS! If you are a new family-WELCOME! We are so happy to have you here at the High School! I hope you all enjoyed a summer filled with fun, relaxation and adventure! I hope your students had a successful first week. It's always so nice to see old friends and make new ones, meet new teachers and get back into a routine (even if there are some nerves). My name is Valerie Talbert and I am thrilled to be your PTSA President this year. It is an honor and I am looking forward to a successful year of serving our school, students, and families.

I encourage you to be an active part of our school community. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts and information, and work on projects to benefit children. I am grateful for the time, effort, knowledge, and talents of our parents, teachers, and staff, and invite you to share yours with us. Our Principal, Mr. Paszkiewicz, VP Jennifer Nebor, and VP Jill Tobin, the teachers and staff are just INCREDIBLE, and have our students' best interest at heart.

Our online order form is now open! All in one place, you may join the PTSA (YES, the S-students can join too and have a voice in our PTA), order your directories, peruse new Spirit Wear items, make some much needed donations, and sign up to volunteer. You can even pre-order your Home Tour tickets and get those sponsorships taken care of, as well as purchase Tailgate meals!

It is my true pleasure to serve as your PTSA President this year. My goal for the year is to support our students and strengthen our sense of community and Spartan Pride that we are so fortunate to have here in La Cañada. I aim to make it a memorable year for the children. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you, and supporting you, your families, the teachers, and staff this year. Spartan Order Form is Open!

With a new year comes the Spartan Order Form, where you can donate, volunteer and purchase your PTSA membership, Directory, Home Tour Sponsorship, Tailgate tickets and Spirit Wear.

The funding sources that comprise the annual PTSA budget are from donations you choose to make on this form. LCHS PTSA relies on our school families to donate, either to our PTSA directed funds or as Sponsors of the annual La Canada Home Tour. YOUR student and YOUR school are counting on you. Please check it out!

You can access it on our website at www.lchsptsa.org and once you have created your account you can click the Spartan Order Form link on the left side of the page. Instructions to set up your account are on the website home page.

Join us at the Annual Tailgate - Sept. 20!

Every year, LCHS PTSA, LCHS 7/8 PTA and Boosters organize a fun Tailgate Party at the start of football season. Families gather outside the football field as we play games, listen to a great DJ and enjoy delicious freshly meals from Tommy's. A spirit tunnel is created by those present and our teams run through it and onto the field to kick off the Spartan athletics season. Tailgate is a membership event for both organizations and we encourage everyone to attend and support our important organizations.

The 2024 Tailgate will be Friday, September 20 at 5:00 pm prior to the football game. Parent volunteers are needed to make this fun event a success. Go to the Spartan Order Form to purchase food tickets in advance and sign up to volunteer.
