SUBJECT: LCHS 9-12 PTSA - All the News You Need!

President's Message

Dear Family,

I hope you enjoyed the long, much needed, weekend after a very challenging week.

In the wake of the devastating wildfires, we have seen our community come together like never before. Your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for one another is nothing short of inspiring. It is the true La Canada way. Together, we will be here to support, heal, and help rebuild.

Here is the district link of resources and ways to support:

Eaton Fire Get Support/Give Support

Thank you to everyone who joined the PTA meeting on Thursday- its exactly what we needed as a community.  A huge thank you to our incredible Superintendent, Wendy Sinnett and school board Representative, Joe Radabaugh, for a thorough update regarding the Wildfires as well as all the district happenings. We are so lucky to have our site leaders, school board leaders and Superintendent (and everyone in between) that are navigating this (again) unchartered territory and advocating for our children. Our village is incredible.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Best,

Valerie Talbert - LCHS PTSA President, president@lchsptsa.org

Special Lunch for Seniors on Jan. 24!

Let’s celebrate the start of the Class of 2025 Seniors’ final semester at LCHS!

Our seniors have worked so hard to get here and we would like to treat them to a special Taco Cart lunch this Friday, 1/24, at their lunch time.

Lunch will be served at the South Campus – just look for the balloons!  They will need to have their student ID with them to receive their free lunch – a scanned copy on their phone will work.

First District PTA Senior Scholarship is Now Open!

First District PTA (FDPTA) awards scholarships of $800.00 to support students who are planning to attend a community college, trade or tech school, or a four-year college or university in the fall of 2025. The application must be submitted via the online form: First District PTA 2025 Commemorative Scholarship Application. No physical copies will be accepted.

The application includes a personal statement that touches on as many of the essay prompts as are applicable to the student, limited to 500 words. PTSA Student memberships can be purchased on the LCHS PTSA website.  PTSA membership cards can be picked up in the College & Career Center from Mrs. Proctor. You’ll need to scan this card and include it in your online application.

Submitted applications will also be considered for the La Canada Council PTA Scholarship.
